SOC-2290 Addictions and Mental Health in Justice - 3.00 credits

SOC-2290  Addictions and Mental Health in Justice  (3 Credits)  This course provides students with an opportunity to examine the full spectrum of addictions and mental health. Students will explore the relationship between mental health, trauma, and substance use through theories, awareness, stigma, prevention, treatment and evidence-based strategies to promote well-being and mental health. Through a process of self-reflection, research and best practice guidelines, students will develop a professional approach to mental health in Canada.
