This course is an introductory examination of the theory and practice of sculpture. Concentration is on the basic introductory processes and principles involved with three-dimensional forms. A range of basic sculptural media will be explored, including some of the following: wire, paper, clay, plaster, metals, wood, stone, and found objects. Students will be introduced to conceptual and skills-based development in sculpture through hands-on exercises, examples, discussions, critiques and projects.
