ENF-1170 Engineering Properties I (3 Credits) An introduction to the engineering properties of soils and hot mix asphalt as they relate to the civil engineering industry. Topics will include an overview of geological processes, rock and mineral classification system, fundamental engineering concepts and calculations for the selection and design of appropriate soil foundations and asphalt pavement structures. Laboratory projects will be incorporated in the course to supplement the lecture material and to reinforce and supplement theoretical concepts. Not available for supplemental. Not eligible for Prior Learning Assessment.
