His research interests include policing, racialization, racial profiling, youth and gangs, corrections, and (in)justice in the criminal justice system.

Ibrahim Turay holds a Bachelor of Art in Sociology, with a concentration in Criminology, Deviance and Social Control, from the University of Calgary, and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Alberta. Ibrahim is currently working on his PhD in Cultural, Social and Political Thought at the University of Lethbridge.
